Two attorneys talking in the Merriweather Law office

About the firm

A small firm, on purpose.

We built Merriweather Law around a simple idea. People facing a big decision deserve a lawyer who has the time to actually listen, and who will explain things in plain words.

Our story

Merriweather Law started with a frustration many people share. Legal help too often feels rushed, expensive, and hard to understand.

Calls go to voicemail. Bills arrive without explanation. Advice comes wrapped in language that makes you feel smaller for not knowing it.

We wanted to run a firm the opposite way. So we kept it small, took on fewer clients than we could, and put our energy into the relationship rather than the invoice. The result is a practice where you talk to the same people from the first call to the final signature, and where the answer to "what does this mean?" is always a real answer.

Today we help Oklahoma families and small businesses with the matters that tend to define a chapter of life. A marriage ending. A parent passing. A business beginning. Our job is to make the legal part of those moments clearer and calmer, so you can focus on the human part.

What guides us

Four things we will not trade away

01

Plain speech

We translate the law into words that make sense. If you leave a meeting more confused than you came, we have not done our job.

02

Small by design

Fewer clients means more attention. You will not be handed off to someone who has never heard your story.

03

We say what we think

We will tell you what we honestly think, including the times you do not need a lawyer at all. Trust is the whole business.

04

In it for the long run

We would rather be the firm a family calls for a generation than the loudest name on a billboard.

Who you will
be working with

A general-practice firm works because the same steady people handle the whole of a matter. Here is how the roles fit together.

You would meet the specific attorneys assigned to your matter at your first consultation.

Simple, and human,
from the first call

There is no form to decode before you can talk to somebody. Call or send a note and tell us what is going on, in your own words. We will take it from there.

  • Reach out. Describe the situation however it comes out. Nothing has to be organised first.
  • Sit down together. We listen, answer questions, and lay out the options plainly.
  • Hear the options that need no lawyer. If that is the honest answer, that is the answer you get.
  • Leave with a clear path. A plan you understand, and a firm you can actually reach.

Not sure where to start? Let's talk it through

Tell us what is on your mind. If it is something we can help with, we will explain how.
If it is not, we will point you in the right direction. Either way you get a straight answer.
