Gutters and drainage
A good roof still needs somewhere to put the water. We fit gutters and downspouts sized for the way it rains here, so a fast-moving storm ends up in the yard instead of against your foundation.
Oklahoma does not rain gently. A spring storm can drop more water in twenty minutes than a mild climate sees in a week, and undersized gutters simply give up. Water sheets over the front edge, lands at the foundation, and starts a much more expensive problem than the gutters would have cost.
Sizing matters more here than almost anywhere. Wider gutters, oversized downspouts, more outlets on long runs, and a real slope so water moves instead of sitting. That is the difference between a gutter system that works in a cloudburst and one that only works in a drizzle.

Water that overshoots the gutter lands in a trench beside the house and goes straight down. In this soil, that moves foundations. Getting the gutter capacity and the downspout placement right is cheap insurance against a repair that costs many times more.

Where we work
We are based in Oklahoma City and we work the whole metro. Every roofing contractor working for a fee in this state has to be registered with the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board, and since 1 July 2026 residential work also requires the Residential Roofing Endorsement. Ask anyone who knocks on your door for both. If you are nearby and not on this list, call us anyway, we probably cover you.
Questions
It depends on the roof area draining into each run and the pitch of that roof, not on a standard number. Given how hard it can rain here, we size up rather than down, and we add downspouts on long runs instead of asking one outlet to carry everything. We work the sizing out on site.
They are if you have trees near the roof. A blocked gutter has no capacity, so in the exact storm where you need it most it does nothing at all. Guards do not eliminate maintenance, but they turn an annual clean-out into an occasional one.
Yes, they are separate jobs. That said, if the roof is being replaced soon, doing both together is tidier, because the drip edge and the gutter hangers meet at the same edge and it is easier to get that junction right in one visit.
Yes. Failed gutters are the usual reason fascia rots, so we regularly find soft board when we take the old system off. We repair it as part of the job rather than hanging new gutters on wood that will not hold them.
