Ultra XC is a softer gel approved for lip augmentation and for the lines around the mouth. It gives fullness without much stiffness, which is why it is often a starting point for someone new to lip filler. Lidocaine is mixed in.
Ultra Plus XC is the thicker version of the same gel, made for deeper placement in folds that need more support. Some injectors reach for it in lips that want more volume. It also contains lidocaine.

Every Juvéderm gel marked XC has lidocaine mixed into it, so the area numbs as the injection goes in, and topical numbing cream is usually applied first. Lips are the most sensitive area, and that is the one where numbing matters most. Tell your injector if you are uncomfortable.
Yes. Because these are hyaluronic acid gels, an enzyme called hyaluronidase can break them down, usually within a day or two. It is used when filler has migrated, when there is too much in one spot, or in the rare case of a vascular problem. Reversal is a medical decision, not a walk in service.
