Messages about appointments are kept deliberately plain. They avoid naming a treatment or including anything that would reveal why someone is attending, because a message can be read by anyone who happens to see the screen. Anyone who would rather be contacted a different way can say so and that preference will be recorded.
Standard message and data rates set by the mobile carrier apply to any text message, and the practice has no control over those. Message frequency varies with what has been requested and what is scheduled.
Email is not a secure channel. Anything sent by ordinary email can in principle be read in transit, stored on intermediate servers, or delivered to the wrong address if it is mistyped. For that reason clinical questions should be raised by phone, through a secure patient portal, or in person, rather than by email or through a form on this site. A reply sent by email will be kept as general as the question allows.
